About

Founded in 2022 by Anjali Tallapragada, Brown Girl Project began as graduate thesis research at NYU and has grown into an independent research and community practice. Our work sits at the intersection of qualitative research, community engagement, and knowledge return.

We believe research belongs to the communities it studies — not just to institutions.
